JakeaBob`s Bay in Union Beach

This is a beautiful spot and a great place for drinks. Foodwise, things are sort of so so, but it it so pretty you forget that. Don't order the crab cakes - they are like mashed potatoes with pieces of crab mushed in. I would rather have smaller crab cakes that were mostly crab for the price on the menu. But when I sent the order back, our waitress was more than gracious and brought me fish and chips instead, which were fine. I have to try a few other things on the menu. The service was great and the staff very friendly.

Atmosphere, atmosphere, atmosphere. That is the reason we go to JakeaBob's. It's located right on Raritan Bay. There is a restaurant section and a tiki bar section. In the evenings there is a band playing in the tiki bar area.The service is amazing, The bartenders are amazing. The food is okay. The crowd is of all ages so if you want a nice night out with your friends, this is a place to try.

Really nice atmosphere literally on the water. Fresh seafood tower and ahi tuna nachos are a must!

Had no clue what to expect but heard it's an enjoyable time.1- We were greeted at the entrance by the owner who was warm and inviting. He made us feel welcomed from the moment we stepped in. 2- Our waitress was great and checked back on us in order to make sure we were well. She was friendly and sincere with her hospitality and made the visit even better. 3- The food was absolutely perfect for what we were looking for. We shared the Drunken Shrimp & Clams and a Crab Cake Sandwich. Both were true representatives of Jersey shore fresh seafood and were worth every penny.4- Last but not least was the view and atmosphere. The views from the pier where you are seated are perfect as you look out into Raritan Bay. The setting was quaint but looks as it could get a bit more lively if the season and night are right.Overall I would recommend JakeaBob's to anyone and everyone that wanted to smile while the ate! We will be back soon...with more people!

Great Views Great Food

Nice bar scene..if that's your thing. Good music on Friday and Saturday night. Food is medicore at best.

I cant actually even rate the food. We went on a weekday and was told that there was a 10-15 minute wait. No problem. As we waited, there were people that just walked in and sat (not at the bar) and others that were told the same as us and took a pager and sat. There were many open tables but I understand sometimes staffing is lite. We were sat 30 minutes later. While looking at the menu and waiting for our server (another 20 minutes) another couple was sat behind us. Within seconds a waiter came over, took their drink order and basically told them "You guys came on a really bad day, the kitchen is screwing up everyone's orders and the wait is really long. I can get you drinks but cant guarantee anything else". With that, we left. 30 minutes of waiting for a table and another almost 30 at a table with NO service. Suffice to say...we will not be going back.

Beautiful. Not the greatest tourist place but worth seeing if your swinging by.

This is a cute spot. It's perfect for those Summer night's and the food is delicious. Want to hear some music? Well, they have that too (during certain times of the day).

Great place, food isn't bad, view great and since it''s one of the only places in town to eat it's a little expensive but worth it especially if your out of twon looking for a fun experience. Usually crowded especially on Fridays- Sundays!

Wish they were open longer. Very much enjoy eating there with live music on the water.

This place is a local favorite! My family loves to come here every summer. So glad that they have rebuilt since superstorm Sandy. The food is really good, but the scenery is even more breathtaking! I love living on the Jersey Shore.

Always love this place. Been going here for years. Great food and atmosphere. Be prepared to wait a bit for a table as with the nice weather here it's a hotspot for a lot of people. Worth the wait.

Stopped here on the way back home from a day at Asbury Park Beach. Prepared myself for a long wait given that it was 1pm on a Saturday with beautiful weather. When we arrived we paid for parking, $5 minimum on credit card otherwise it’s $1 an hour, but the machine only takes coins! Hostess greeted us and quickly walked us to our table over the water, no wait what so ever. Started off with the Piggy Chips, which were a table favorite (didn’t get a picture of those as they were gone too fast). We then had our meals, Jakeabob’s Salad. With a Caesar salad base, topped with grilled BBQ chicken and melted mozzarella this was definitely a filling salad. Would highly recommend. Given that the location is outdoor seating only, I believe it’s open weather permitting.

I feel like I’m on vacation every time we go there.

Super fun summer restaurant and bar with live music. Wear long sleeves and bug spray. Gnats will eat you alive!!!

If you are ever looking for somewhere to go for dinner in the summer that is right on the water, this is the best place to go. You are on the water, literally. The view is amazing especially for the price of the food.

I absolutely love Jakeabob's!!!!! They have great outdoor seating. The bar area is 21+ but the seating on the pier and tables is family friendly!! They serve bar food, fish, salads, burgers. The drinks are great. Beautiful view of NYC and right on the water . Very fun spot !!!

Great view on a hot night

It's fun being outside and looking out across the bay to many different scenic locations. The food and drink are great here too. They have live music on most nights.

This place is over-rated. The atmosphere is eye-catching and interesting yet very windy. It's literally on the water. We went here during lunch hours and the restaurant side of it wasn't really busy; the bar was. Their was more than enough staff that was working and there was about 75% of the tables available. Yet, there was about five staff members waiting around looking for something to do. I had to walk up and ask the hostess to physically seat us at an open table. She sat us at a remote location and I had to tell her "no, were sitting over there" and sat there. We ordered and the food came to us, tasted it, and it's just mediocre. There's nothing about their food that fly's above the rest. It's typical bar foodn cooked and thrown out of the kitchen. I wouldn't come back here.

All the staff at this establishment are super friendly! Food is well priced and delicious! I recommend the crab-cake sandwich. It’s so yummy! The sangria is delicious, but I enjoy the 6 coronitas for $12. They have a section to sit where you have an AMAZING view of the water. The bar plays live music as well, but to enter that area you must have an ID!

Great place for cocktails and fun! Live music a big plus! Enjoy the bay and a city Vista; all while enjoying a wonderful cocktail! Don't judge the premium pricing, it's worth it.

It's outside & it's all about the ambiance (outside w/ a nice view) for me. Outside dining on raised docks, food is ok for me, decent prices & there is an adjacent tiki bar, often crowded, with music sometimes.

Great food, beautiful scenery and an even better staff. This is our summer spot for sure. Definitely a hidden gem, but quickly becoming popular.

Food and the atmosphere was great! There was a live music for a little bit. We ordered Sea Shore Tuna Burger, Tuna Tacos, Fish & Chips. The burger was Tuna, it was big piece of Tuna cooked the way you want, it was great! The burger came with thick sliced patato chips! Cajun seasoning on the Tuna was too salty for our taste. Tuna tacos were good, it had a sauce made with wasabi which gave it a good taste. I think our server just started working and nervous, she needs to smile a little!

Delicious food on the bay! The blueberry ribs and jakeabobs burger were absolutely delicious!!! There tends to be a long wait here on nice weekend nights but it is worth it. They have a large bar area which helps when waiting.

Located right on the water, it offers picturesque views of the nyc skyline and the bay. On a beautiful day there is really no better place in the area to enjoy a meal.They also have a phenomenal breakfast deal on Sunday. The breakfast sandwiches are delicous and filling. Seriously top quality breakfast sandwiches.

Nice place, but hard to get a drink. Some bands are ok, but some aren't. They need to step it up just a little..
